Abandoned Dog Gives Birth After Being Rescued
Some people love the idea of having their dog. But sadly, they don’t want the responsibility that comes with being a dog owner.
As babies, they are very dependent on us. Even when they are already adults, they look at us for their everyday needs.
And this includes their health care. Many animal advocates and animal rights groups push spaying and neutering our pets. This is not just to curb overpopulation but also to ensure the quality of life of our animals. It’s not easy to care for many pets, and some people may get overwhelmed.
Pregnant and dumped
A dog owner in China must have realized this and he made a terrible decision. Instead of finding a more humane option for his pregnant dog, he decided instead to abandon his pet pooch on the side of a road.
The pregnant dog, who was later renamed Naicha, was found by rescuers staying motionless on the pavement. At first, they thought that Naicha was hit by a car and was injured. But then they realized that she was so pregnant that it was difficult for her to move.
They knew right away that she was a housepet because she wasn’t aggressive towards humans. She was already accustomed to being around people. When they approached her, she merely looked at her rescuers and started wagging her tail. She must have understood that they were there to help her.
Nevertheless, they put a muzzle on her just to be cautious. They then loaded the dog into their vehicle and brought her to a vet.
Abandoned Dog Gives Birth
The dog took x-rays and various medical tests. Thankfully, the dog was healthy. They couldn’t determine how many puppies were in her, but they saw that there were a lot. And after two days, they finally knew.
Naicha gave birth to 11 puppies, and they were all healthy and adorable. But because there were too many, she couldn’t produce enough milk. The shelter staff helped by hand-feeding the puppies that couldn’t be fed. They did this every day.
After two months, the family was happy and strong. The pups were playing and very active. They are now in the process of being put up for adoption.
