It was a cold December day in Romania. Somebody reported to the animal rescue organization “Howl of a Dog” that a group of dogs was staying at a junkyard.
When the rescuers arrived, they found three dogs huddled on top of a pile of tiles, probably because there was a warm spot there.
Arnia was the smallest among the three. As soon as they took her to the shelter, they bathed her then gave her food and water. Although she was uncertain at first, she began trusting her rescuers when she felt their love and concern. The poor dog seemed so exhausted that she cuddled up to rest to her rescuer.
Malnourished But Survives
At the clinic, the vet diagnosed Arnia with severe anemia, dehydration, muscle spasms, and a diarrheal disease called giardiasis. She was emaciated like the other two dogs with her. She only weighed half the ideal weight of a dog her size.
Arnia was given the proper medications and complete vaccinations. Her foster family took care of her well, and she slowly regained her health.
Arnie’s demeanor also improved a lot. She became a very playful puppy. It was as if she wanted to catch up on all the fun she had missed in that part of her life. Even the simple and ordinary things brought her joy
.
A family in Germany adopted Arnia through the collective efforts of the organization’s volunteers. Arnie’s family was very excited to have her, so they prepared everything for her a month before her arrival. They bought her lots of toys, treats, and cozy beds. Some even plotted hiking trails that she could explore once she got there.
The family did everything to make Arnia feel welcome, and she adjusted well to life with her new family. It was a considerable improvement from her days of staying in a garage
