Dog Stayed by Deceased Owner’s Side for Three Days –

Double D November 17, 2022

Bear is a 12-year-old dog that embodies perfectly the loyalty that dogs are known for. Dog Stayed by Deceased Owner’s Side for Three Days.

Finding her human unresponsive must have been very tragic for the dog. She mourned by his side, and for at least three days, the senior dog didn’t go out to eat or drink.

They only got separated when her owner’s nephew dropped by their house and discovered what happened. As her owner’s family members did not show interest in adopting her, Bear was taken to the facility of a Baltimore-based rescue organization named BARCS.

An absolute doll

Like most dogs brought to a shelter, Bear was timid initially. She was understandably confused about her new environment. She remained quiet but not withdrawn. Every time a volunteer takes her out for walks, she brightens up, and there is apparent happiness in the way she trots.

As Bear became more comfortable in her new surroundings, she would often smile at the people around her. And when someone gets close to her, she leans in, hoping to get a hug. The shelter staff and volunteers adored having her around. She was an absolute doll, which made them confident that she would find a good home.

Power of the internet

But despite her amiable character, it seemed that no one was showing any interest. Maybe it was because of her old age. Nevertheless, the rescuers worked hard to give her exposure on social media. They posted her photos and shared her story with the people. And soon, people started noticing her.

One of them is a woman named Chelsea Hagerty. She is a volunteer foster for Barcs and frequently checks on the animals under the group’s care. She fell in love with Bear and filed for her adoption.

The rescue group didn’t hesitate to give the senior dog to her. They already knew that Chelsea could give her the life that she deserves.
